Winter Roundup 1-Christmas Holiday Books

It’s Christmas time and down to the last bit of shopping.  Leena and I have enjoyed reading these fun holiday books.  These books are great if you have last minute shopping to do or to get an early start on next Christmas.

1. If Animals Celebrated Christmas by Ann Whitford Paul, Illustrated by David Walker

If Koala family and other animals celebrated Christmas they would have a joyous time cheering, making wreaths, making Santa-shaped cakes, and much, much more.

Children would love following along with the story and illustrations imagining the different animals celebrated Christmas.

2.  How to Hide a Lion at Christmas by Helen Stephens

The love and bond between Iris and her lion are beautifully shown throughout this book.  A Christmas getaway would not stop Lion from making sure Iris is happy for Christmas.

How to Hide a Lion at Christmas is a great book to read with children and family.

3. The ABCs of Christmas by Jill Howarth*

Learn the alphabet and deck the halls! Spread the joy of Christmas with this sparkly book that features clever word associations and delightfully festive illustrations.

I cannot wait to read this one with Leena as we continue to teach her ABCs.

4. Paw Patrol-The Pups Save Christmas! Adapted from the teleplay by Ursula Ziegler Sullivan, Illustrated by Harry Moore*

When a blizzard grounds his sleigh on Christmas Eve, even Santa knows he can yelp for help.  Ryder and his team of dynamic pups are ready to roll-but can they get Santa flying again in time to save the holiday?

We love Paw Patrol and so excited to read this book on Christmas Eve.

5. The Sweet Smell of Christmas by Patricia Scarry, Illustrated by J.P. Miller*

Can you smell Christmas coming?  Celebrate the holiday with Little Bear and six delicious Christmas scents in this classic yuletide scratch-and-sniff book!

The Christmas smells in the book help you get in the holiday spirit and truly brings the book to life.  Leena loved the scratch-and-sniffs, and was also trying to smell the other pages, lol!
