Speak Positive Sunday-Message 10

Good Morning Inspirers. Thank you for taking the time to read the latest message of Speak Positive Sunday.

Today’s discussion is on my favorite quotes from Barack Obama that was shared last week.

1) “It’s important to make sure we’re talking with each other in a way that heals, not in a way that wounds.”

Last week I discussed the quote about kind words, so this goes along with that.  We have gotten so far away from remembering how our words affect one another. Especially in this political climate-there cannot be a discussion about certain things without people being mean to each other. We learn through conversation. We heal through conversations. We empathize through conversations.  This goes for speaking with family and friends as well.  Words are powerful. We must choose how we use them.

2) “Change will not come if we wait for people or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.  We are the change we seek.”

Anyone can be a vessel for change.  Everyone has a platform to use to encourage change.  If you see something that needs to change and can positively affect others start the process. We cannot sit on our hands and wait for the next to do it.  We can plant the seeds of change.

3) “The best way to not feel hopeless is to get up and do something.  Don’t wait for good things to happen to you.  If you go out and make some good things happen, you will fill the world with hope, you will fill yourself with hope.”

This goes with the previous quote.  Make some good things happen. Fill the world with hope. One positive act can start a chain reaction.  I always try to encourage some who speaks about feeling hopeless or things aren’t going their way-I ask ‘What are you doing?’ and ‘What can you do to make the situation better?’  I ask myself this as well.

Prayer/Positive Thoughts

I am thankful for the opportunities that I have been given to spread positivity and help others.  I am thankful that others doing the same. As we go throughout the week, let us be mindful of our words and those moments that we can encourage others and give them hope.  Let us also strive to be the change we want to see.
