You Are What You Eat-Book Review

You Are What You Eat, Human Body Function In Relation To FoodBy Sally F. Jackson, RN, CLNC, CPT, Pt. Adv.

Thank you Kiersten with Lavidge for the opportunity to review this book. My opinion of this book is my own.

Synopsis

If you are working on your health, then you know that it is important what you put into your body, but may not know where to start or understand all the health language.  In this book, Jackson details how the human body functions in relation to food.  Some important things highlighted in the book:

“Nutrition is not calorie counting, chemical reactions, or metabolism.  Nutrition is proper and effective body function, as a result of what you eat!”

It’s important to know the difference between bondable and non-bondable sugars.

Also one chapter to be sure to read is “The Overlooked Elements of Good Health” were the basics of water, sleep and exercise are discussed.

There is a lot of good information on how your body and food interact.

My Thoughts

When first looking at the book, a first impression may be that it is a lot of reading and that you may think you will not understand what will be discussed.  This book is written in a way to help you understand what is important, and it is okay if you have to read over some parts a second time. It is necessary to know your body in a holistic manner.  What we put in our bodies will effect how healthy we are or want to become.  I plan to use this on my health journey as I make changes to my eating habits.  To become a healthier you, read this book.
