Speak Positive Sunday-Message 4
Hi everyone. I hope that your week was blessed and not full of a lot of stress. It’s a new week and another opportunity for positivity.
This week I want to focus on Self Care. We get so busy with our families, our careers, our tasks, and other things that sometimes we forget about taking care of ourselves. Kudos to those that are, and I love seeing the posts about self care because it reminds me to focus on myself and gives me motivation.
Last week I really had to have a talk with God and myself about this. On top of the many things going on in my life, my baby girl was sick last weekend and she was at home from daycare, so mama was tired all week from a lack of sleep and worry and still going to work. Then I was not feeling well the remainder of the week, and I felt like I was getting ready to have an anxiety attack. I have noticed that I have been having more anxiety over the past few months. So I stopped and said “God I have to get this under control.” I was also thankful that it was only a three-day workweek.
You cannot be there for anyone else if you do not take care of yourself first. I have been told this so many times after I had my daughter. It is also hard when working in the social services field or any field helping others, when you struggling to work on your own issues. Yes the people we love and care for are important. Our careers are important. Those tasks we must complete are important, but we have to make the time we need to rest, reset, and get refocused so that we can be productive and there.
If you have been putting off anything that you need to do for yourself, like I have, do it now. Take the time you need for self. Find a way to break away in solitude and refresh yourself. Get those checkups, exercise, read, take a trip-whatever it is you need to do, do it for you.
Caring for self is always important.
Prayer/Positive thoughts for the week:
Thank You God for the opportunities that we have to love and care for others, but let us not forget about ourselves. Let us be reminded each day to give ourselves the care we need so that we can continue fulfilling our purpose. We cannot truly be there for others if we are not there for ourselves. Help us to realize that is not being selfish to put ourselves first when needed. I pray that we see this is a positive step in our lives.
May our week be full of refreshing moments and positivity.
