Lovin' My Leena
Reading With Leena-Book 1

Reading With Leena-Book 1

I love reading and my love for reading started at an early age.  My parents would always take my brothers and I to the library to check out books. I remember when we use to have the pizza coupons from Pizza Hut when you read a certain amount of books.I also loved Reading Rainbow.  I want my daughter to love reading also. I’ve started her a library.  I still want to have a house with a library room for both of us.

I’ve signed up for Friends of the Library and it is the best thing I could have done. You want to talk about being in book heaven!!!!  The first time going to a book sale was in February this year. I did not take Leena with me, but got her plenty of books.  Her and my mom went with me last weekend to a boxed book sale and another small library book sale.  I was a little disappointed in the boxed book sale and the other library sale, but I still enjoyed myself. I told my mom the big one is awesome!!! So, we are looking forward to attending next year.

I thought it would be fun to share some of the books that we are reading.  I let Leena pick the book she wanted me to post about first.  I love reading children’s books and it’s always a message in a child’s book that we can use. This book is one of my favorites.

Ducky comes over for a play date and they decide to play laundry day. They put Lambkin’s doll clothes and wash them in the sink. Ducky suggests they wash the blanket, but Lambkin cannot let her blanket go.

Lambkin decides to let Ducky wash the blank and she joins in because it looked so fun. The clothes were nice and clean.

They hang up the clothes and then Ducky holds up Lambkin’s blanket-it was smaller, softer, clean, but had tiny holes. Lambkin cries and wants her blanket back. They let it dry with all the other clothes. Ducky makes a doll out of the small blanket and Lambkin loves her new doll.

Message:  Sometimes we have to change something, leave someplace or someone that brings us comfort to discover that something new and exciting could be waiting for us.

If you have small children or grandchildren and want to find a great book to add to their collection this is one to consider. What are some of your favorite children’s books?

Until next story time… Be Positive, Be Blessed, Be a Blessing and help spread the love of reading.
